Physicochemical Properties: Magnesium carbonate white monoclinic crystalline or amorphous powder. Its chemical compositions generally is expressed in x MgCO₃ y Mg(OH) ₂ z H₂O, of which the proportions of x, y and z have several different kinds and can be 4:1:4, 4:1:5, 4:1:6, 4:1:7, 3:1:3 and 3:1:4. And nontoxic, odorless, stable in the air. Relative density is 2.16. Slightly soluble in water, and its aqueous solution shows weak alkaline reaction. Its solubility in water is 0.02% (15℃).
